Gates to Ministry

Walls
Street LeagueA sports/activity-based format for ages 8 to adult; may become a Christian sports league with other participating groups. They will use the principles from the "A Child's Heart" Bible study as stand-alone topics or in a series.
ACH FamiliesSupport Groups for Single Parents - Single Parent Family @ Home
The parent completes their portion of the "A Child's Heart" Bible study at home and teaches the children's portion to their children during the week. At the end of each week, the parents and children gather at the "home base" of the church/ministry for age-level support groups, led by volunteers, to discuss the week's lesson. After a 6-8 week session, everyone convenes for a potluck meal and review of the session. When single-parent ministries from different areas of the city all start their sessions at the same time, the potlucks can bring together all these single-parent families, offering a broader perspective and more positive encouragement.

P.M. CareThis all-night facility is a long-range goal to help meet the needs of single parents and children, providing safety and security for both caregiver and child, whether the need is for refuge from an abusive situation or a place for children to stay while the caregiver is working or not available. There would be professionally qualified care of the child. There would be clear expectations of the adult: attending parenting classes, participating in the "A Child's Heart" Bible study as their child does, and investing some time working at the P.M. Care center. A sliding scale will be used.
