My three adopted daughters have attended Camp Nehemiah for the past several years. They are so enthusiastic about going each summer. They love the attention (all the time), meeting new friends from similar or tough home lives, hikes and games and even the treats and lunches shared. Miss Jackie and Mrs Weidner has made a big impression in their lives. Each has taken time to see them away from camp as well. Miss Jackie is in my Sunday School Class and sees them often at church. She prays for them year after year.
None of them talked much about what they discovered during the camp, but after reviewing the curriculum, I was amazed how it was similar to their therapy session, each one reaffirming each other. We have talked a lot about filling up the holes inside of us with God's blessing in the healing process. With God being the center of understanding our needs the girls seemed to begin to accept the fact that God had a special place in his family for them. Because the camp is informal and longer than an hour any questions could be dealt with "on an on" need basis.
They are looking forward to Camp Nehemiah 2006!
